The Allied Irish Bank in conjunction with Errigal College runs a school
bank every year. The bank is coordinated by a team of eight fifth and
transition year students with help from some other student.
The 2009/2010 academic year's team includes the position of the Manager,
occupied by Ziyanda Shologu and her deputy Kerry lee Coyle. In the position
of the Sales and Marketing Manager is Martin Rogers, Andrews Aziz Opoku
acts as Auditor, Hannah O'Donnell and Michelle O' Donnell are Tellers
and Chris Cannon and Dylan Murphy as Assistants. In addition, the team
is guided by the wonderful supervision of the school's business teachers
Mr. McFadden and Miss Logue with an extra hand from the school's designated
AIB representative Mr. James Mc Fadden.
This year's bank was named the 'Celtic Crunch' after serious deliberation. It opens every Thursday
from 13:15 to 13:45. With the help of our sponsors: SARA, County Seat, Elverys Sports, B-Bobs Hairdressing, Edge Hairdressing, Linda's Beauty
Clinic, C.T. Ball jewellers, Pat's Pizza, Magee's Pharmacy, Rathmulan House Hotel.
We run weekly draws to give a prize to the winner of 'the saver of the
week' competition. Alan Doherty LCA 1 was the winner of the January 21st competition and Patrick McFadden 6th year won our
last competition on January 28th.
In addition to these student incentives, there is also an overall price
to be won at the end of this year's school bank. This is a laptop.
But we haven't forgotten about our teachers, there is also a restaurant
meal for two to be won and we call on our teachers to kindly make their
lodgements in order to give them the chance to win this fabulous prize.
However, the school bank's staff would like to thank all teachers and students
for their cordial co-operation which has helped to attain our goals so far.
Finally, as we all are aware of the current economic situation, let us come together to 'BEAT THE CRUNCH THROUGH OUR SCHOOL BANK THE CELTIC CRUNCH'.
